To: All Users
As a commitment to our users, we are continuously working to improve the service of wireless LAN. Recently, we have carried out a series of improvements on the wireless LAN system.
1. Re-planning the channels of the wireless LAN
In order to improve the network stability and signal reception of the WiFi client, we have re-planned the channels of wireless LAN based on the specifications of most devices on the market. This makes our wireless LAN access points more compatible with most devices, providing users with a better access environment.
2. Expanding the public wireless network to the whole campus
Our public WiFi network (UM_PUBLIC_WIFI) service has been extended to the entire campus, and the opening hours have been increased from 2 hours to 8 hours, making it more convenient for public visitors.
3. Kicking off the construction of new generation of wireless LAN
Our existing wireless LAN system have been used for many years, and we plan to construct the next generation of wireless LAN in the coming few years. The entire project is initially divided into seven phases. The new generation of system will better respond to the continuous development of mobile device technology and performance, while increasing system capacity to provide users with a better and more stable experience.
In addition, recently, we have completed the upgrade of a number of wireless LAN core devices to improve the overall performance and processing power of the wireless LAN system, and prepare for the coming phases of the project.
