To cultivate students in the appreciation of Arts, MCM College took students to a variety of events and international art festivals. Earlier in the year, Edi Rudo, French-American mime artist and magician, came with Ms. Lyn Chan, Artistic Director of Canu Theatre to MCM College and conducted a series of mime activities with students. With the hospitality of Canu Theatre, MCM College students attended the 2019 Macau International Mime Festival in October and enjoyed “El Diablo of the cards 2.0”, a performance by Brazillian performer EI Diablo, and a workshop by French mime artist and actor Benoît Turjman.
Combining improvisation and a clown’s hilarious magic skills, EI Diablo interacted with participants and lead them through a succession of scenes with his unique card magic. The fun-filled, light-hearted performance breaks the language barrier and allows participants to experience the performance to the fullest. After the performance, students were instructed on the know-how of making mime expressions and performing techniques by Benoît Turjman, who is known in France as the stunt double of Rowan Atkinson in “Mr Bean’s Holiday”. |
