PGH Summer Stay Application
Dear Postgraduate Students,

Please noted that the Postgraduate House (PGH) 2019 Summer Stay Application Result with Room Allocation is attached below:

A. Summer Stay Period: 1 Jun - 30 July 2019, move out by 31 July 2019 (14:00)

#A new debit note will be sent separately to the students who are allocated to Single Room/Suite/Medical Single Room for Summer Stay period after the Announcement of Final Results (With Room Allocation) of PGH 2019 Summer Stay and Summer.

C. Settling Payment of Summer Stay Fee:

  • If students are required to settle the Room Rate Difference for Summer Stay, they should settle the fee before payment deadline (TBC) in order to reserve their bed space.
  • E-debit Note will be issued through the Student Information System (SI). (https://isw.umac.mo/siweb/)
  • Students can print out the e-debit note and settle the payment at Bank of China (BOC) / Banco Nacional Ultramarino S.A. (BNU) or through the E-banking.
  • Any LATE payment settlement will NOT be accepted and NO bed space will be reserved.
  • Students who has completed the change room procedure from shared room to single room OR from shared/ single room to suite during the change room period, the entire month of PGH residence fee will be charged on the room type with HIGHER room rate.
  • Students who has completed the change room procedure from single room to shared room OR from suite to single/shared room within the change room period (01-10 Jun 2019), the entire month of PGH residence fee will also be charged on the room type with LOWER room rate (only applicable to 2019 Summer Stay).

D. Procedure for Change Room:
Note: Students who do not COMPLETE change room procedure within the designated period will be treated as giving up the new arranged room. Besides, students may not be allowed to stay in the original room. Completion of PGH change room procedure refers to completion of move out of the previous room and move in the newly assigned room.

In case you are unable to change to the new room in person, you may choose to authorize another UM student to perform the change room procedure on your behalf. To perform the authorization process, please fill in the authorization form and attach the I.D. copies of both parties and hand them to the Management Company during the appointment.

        1) Make Appointment with the Management Company for Change Room Procedure
        - Approach the Management Company personally to make appointment at least 1 day before your actual date of room changing.

        2) On the Appointment Date
        (a) Management Company staff will...
        - Check the cleanliness / conditions of the current room according to the equipment checklist.
        - Record the electricity and water meter reading for excess usage if any.

        (b) Student is required to...
        - Remove all personal belongings and garbage, otherwise, Garbage Removal Fee (MOP 370 per person) will be imposed.
        - Restore the room as its original condition, otherwise, Cleaning Fee (MOP 420 per room) will be imposed.
        - Clear the common area (eg. bathroom) even the other student in the same room has not moved out.
        - Compensate any damaged or lost property in the room.
        - Return the room key card to the staff of Management Company.

        3) Proceed "Move-in" Procedure at New Room
        - Present the Room Changing Form and Student ID to the Management Company staff of the new room.
        - Process the "move-in" procedure.
        - Check the room: Once you submit the equipment checklist, it is assumed the room is in good condition and there will be related charge if there is anything missed or damaged.
        - State clearly anything is missed or damaged in the equipment checklist and report to the Management Company to avoid penalty within 3 days.
        - Collect the new room key card.

E. Remarks:
  1. PGH Summer Stay Fee is non-refundable, except students with reasons of graduation, exchange, medical issues (with medical certificates from hospitals in Macao), deferment or withdrawal of study.
  2. Any UNSETTLED Summer Stay fee after 09 May 2019 will automatically be considered as given up the allocated bed space for Summer Stay Period and your e-debit note and overdue penalty will be deleted automatically from the Student Information (SI) system after 30 Sep 2019.
  3. Students staying in PGH who have NOT settled his/her Summer Stay Fee is required to move-out from PGH on or before 31 May 2019, 14:00. Students who have NOT moved out by 31 May 2019, their room cards will be de-activated and besides Summer Stay fee, overstay penalty (MOP440/suite/per night, MOP220/single room/per night and MOP155/student in a shared room/per night) will be imposed until completion of move out procedure. Moreover, an eviction order will be issued to the overstayed students.
  4. Students are required to make the move-out appointment with the management company office at least 72 hours before your actual move-out date, if not, a handling fee of MOP500 will be charged. Receipt will be issued by the Management Company after the appointment made (please keep it for further reference). For example, if a student would like to move out on 31 Jul (11:00am), s/he shall make the reservation via the Management Company on/before 28 Jul (11:00am). Besides, PGH residents must return their room keys or cards and any other UM properties and pay all the related fees and fines upon move-out.
  5. For those residents who have moved out of PGH without performing the move-out procedure, UM shall not only take relevant disciplinary actions but also will charge the handling fees. UM will charge the residence fee until move-out procedure is completed.
  6. Students are required to remove the personal belongings and garbage in the room before move-out. Otherwise, their belongings in the room will be disposed and the Garbage Removal Fee (MOP370 per person) will be levied.
  7. Room changing application for 1st semester of 2019/2020 will be opened in Aug 2019. Any room changing request received before/after the room changing application period will not be entertained.
  8. For any room with vacant beds, the Student Resources Section (SRS) reserves all rights to assign other students to it at any moment.
  9. SRS reserves the right of final decision.
