Moon Chun Memorial College: Service learning to Sichuan
15 teacher and students from Moon Chun Memorial College, University of Macau, provided volunteer service to left-behind children in Xinlu Town, Sichuan Province from May 18 - 24, 2019.
During their stay, the group visited towns and villages to learn about the life and condition of the local citizens and went to several secondary and primary schools to do sharing and story book classes. The group shared with secondary students inspirational stories on university studies and the difficulties they have faced getting into during their high school years, hoping to motivate students not to give up on their studies, to work toward their goals and realize their dreams in spite of difficulty.
On the other hand, through providing story book classes to primary students, children got to learn about the magical life of microorganisms, did handicraft and wrote thank you notes to their dear ones, and learned about the joy of sharing. Moreover, the group also shared to students the knowledge on how human life starts and tell them ways to protect themselves from potential harassment, which is very crucial to their physical and mental development.
In addition, the group also spent their free time in preparing a food festival for the children in town, teaching and explaining to them patiently how to make Hong Kong – Macau special dish “Wonton”; they also helped in the library by taking care of the lending and returning and accompanying the little readers. We hope that by encouraging reading and sharing our own experience, we could guide children to a better future with knowledge, always looking for the sun like sunflowers.
滿珍紀念書院師生到四川開展愛心服務
澳門大學滿珍紀念書院15名師生於2019年5月18至24日期間，到達四川省三台縣新魯鎮為留守兒童開展愛心服務。
服務期間，學生們走進鄉鎮和鄉村，了解孩子們的生活；並分組前往不同學校開展課程，先後到了新魯中學、龍橋中學和黎曙中學，與一眾初中生分享大學生活、求學經歷、勵志故事等，希望值著分享開闊學生視野，同時朝著目標進發，實現未來的「夢」。
除了中學外，滿珍紀念書院學生們也 到了新魯小學、龍橋小學和金石小學向小學生們作繪本課堂服務，以《微生物》帶領孩子認識奇妙的科學世界；以手工結合《愛心樹》，讓孩子向親人「告白」；以《小白兔送紅蘿蔔》讓孩子學會分享，並以出演情景劇方式鼓勵孩子上台表演；《我弟弟出生了》和《不要隨便摸我》引導孩子認識自己從哪裡來，並教導孩子要保護自己。
此外，學生們還利用了休息時間，為孩子們準備了美食活動，耐心地講解並教導孩子們合力烹煮港澳特色美食「雲呑」；並在圖書館協助社工和故事媽媽給孩子借閱書籍，陪伴孩子閱讀，為孩子打開知識的世界，希望他們能像向日葵一樣陽光向上。 |
