Minor problems that may be neglected when writing a resume
Many students start to write or revise their resume when it comes to job hunting season. However, some minor problems always appear on their resumes. Although they are not serious problems, they will certainly have a negative impact on the employer' s first impression. We listed some of these problems, take a look to see if they also appear on your resume.
  • Using abbreviation not known by others. Many abbreviations (e.g. Majors) are only known by your fellow students and teachers, for the employers, they are very difficult to understand.
  • Inconsistent formatting. In many resumes, dates are not aligned, cases are different. Take a closer look after you finished your resume to avoid these mistakes.
  • Too much irrelevant information. For examples, some students listed qualifications that are not related to the position they are applying for.
  • Incorrect tense in English. You should use past tense to describe the positions you held before.
