Dear Students,
We would like to remind the non-resident students on the following if you are no longer studying because of dropping out, suspending schooling or finishing studies early,
1. Leave Macao on or before the first government working day following the completion of the leaving procedure. In case you need to extend your limit of stay in Macao, you should cancel your original "Special Authorization to Stay” in person at the Stay Subdivision of the Department and apply for ordinary "Authorization to Stay" for the purpose of extension of stay and departure from Macao during office hours on the first government working day following the completion of the school leaving procedure;
2. If you do not apply for “Authorization to Stay” accordingly but just possesses the original “Special Authorization to Stay”, you will become an overstayer’ starting from the second government working day following our formal notification to the Stay Subdivision.
Example 1: Student A completes the school leaving procedure on 7 January 2019 (Monday). He/she should leave Macao on or before 8 January 2019 (Tuesday), or he/she should cancel the original “Special Authorization to Stay” in person at the Stay Subdivision and apply for ordinary “Authorization to Stay” during olfice hours on 9 January 2019 (Tuesday). If student A remains in Macao by simply possessing the original “Special Authorization to Stay”, he/she becomes an overstayer’ starting from 9 January 2019 (Wednesday).
Example 2: Student B completes the school leaving procedure on 11 January 2019 (Friday). He/she should leave Macao on or before 14 January 2019 (Monday), or he/she should cancel the original “Special Authorization to Stay” in person at the Stay Subdivision and apply for ordinary “Authorization to Stay” during office hours on 14 January 2019 (Monday). If student B remains in Macao by simply possessing the original “Special Authorization to Stay”, he/she becomes an overstayer’ starting from 15 January 2019 (Tuesday).
