Guangdong and Macao University Students’ Flag Raising Ceremony

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China and the 20th Anniversary of the Macao SAR, Student Affairs Office (SAO) has invited the National Flag Team of Sun Yat-Sen University and the South China Normal University to come to the University of Macau for a five-day cultural exchange session with the UM National Flag Team. The cultural exchange session include a joint flag raising ceremony will be held on 1 Oct 2019, it will provide a meaningful activity for UM students to attend, in which we sincerely invite all UM members to participate:

Details of the captioned Flag Raising Ceremony is stated below:
Date:1 Oct 2019 (Tue)
Time:08:00am
Venue:Lotus Square, University of Macau (In front of Administration Building)
Participants are required to dress tidily.

Below please find some points to note for the flag-raising ceremony:

When the ceremony begins:

  • Remove hat and sunglasses, umbrellas should be fold up
  • Mute or turn off your electronic devices
  • Stop any other activities and stand as a mark of respect
  • Stand facing the statue. During the flag-raising ceremony, turn your head to the left, towards the poles, without turning the body
  • Sing along with the National Anthem

Remarks:

** Each Participant will be awarded 0.5 Smart Point & 10.0 "Cultural Engagement" (CS)" in the Whole Person Development Award Program.

**Please arrive the venue 10 minutes ahead of time.
