On 6th Nov, MCL invited Prof. James Shea, a creative author and an assistant professor from the Hong Kong Baptist University, for hosting a creative writing workshop. Thanks to our Prof. Katrine Wong’s connection with the association of Asia Pacific Writers and Translators (APWT), our college enjoyed the privilege to arrange the first creative writing workshop which has drawn many enthusiastic students from various disciplines. With the concept of OULIPO, a constraint-based technique, the students were led to break through conventions and write literature in a new way. Through engaging various writing activities such as Lipogram, Erasures, and the so-called “prisoner’s constraint,” the students enjoyed the process of producing and sharing their creative writings.
