| In August 20th – 22nd, 2019, the Chinese Library Annual Conference was held in Erdos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. As one of the nine concurrent theme forums, the “Information Literacy and Sustainable Development” theme forum was co-organized by the School of Information Management of Wuhan University, the Academic Research Committee of the Library Society of China, the University of Macau Library, and Library Journal. Experts and scholars from universities, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, and Taiwan Normal University, had in-depth discussions on how information literacy education contributes to the sustainable development of society.
Dr. Jianzhong Wu, University Librarian, delivered the welcoming speech on behalf of the Library Society of China. Library staff, Jingzhen Xie chaired the forum, Linlin Geng spoke on the theme with the other five scholars, and Priscilla Pun was interviewed as a special guest on how information literacy promotes the development of the library and society.
