| The debate over climate change and environmental protection has surged in visibility over recent years, and energy conservation is an important component in creating a green world. With the aim to promote awareness on the proper use of world resources and energy-saving measures, MCM College has invited Ms Winnie Sam, Energy Section of Campus Management and Development Office, for a workshop on “Energy audit as a tool for energy conservation”.
Effective energy management can minimize energy costs, waste, and the side effects on the environment. With a detailed description on the structure and facilities of the University’s Student Activity Center, we see an example of green building on campus. Both the structure of the building and the facilities have considered and applied green measures. The construction of the building has used aerated concrete walls, semi-underground space, natural ventilation system, photovoltaic power system and green rooftop, to optimize the utilization of available resources and minimize pollution. |
