Rock climbing in its earliest form was done out of necessity, not as sport. It is similar to mountaineering but focus more on the climb itself than reaching the summit. Since its growing popularity in the late 19th century, rock climbing has evolved from ancient practice to Olympic sport. With new walls and equipment being constructed to continually improve indoor climbing experience, rock climbing became increasingly safer and popular.

With the professional equipment and guidance provided by the University of Macau and the University’s Rock Climbing Club, MCM College students experienced the fun of rock climbing. Although a lot of them said it is more tiring than they imagine, they try repeatedly with a clear goal in mind and reach higher each time.
