| Led by Dr. Raymond Wong, Associate University Librarian, 15 library staff from the UM Library visited the Guangzhou Library on July 23, 2019, and participated in a seminar on “Information Organization and Services”. Mr. Fang Jiazhong, Director of Guangzhou Library, introduced the development of “City of Library project” in Guangzhou, while Ms. Cai Xiao Xuan, Head of Acquisition and Cataloging, reported on the structure of the information organization and business process of Guangzhou Library. As for the UM Library, Ms. Priscilla Pun, Head of Technical Process of UM Library, introduced the recent development trends of information organization and services in Macau. Ms. Fiona Lin and Ms. Yamaha Lam of the UM Library then shared the current development of models and services of information organization at the UM Library. This one-day visit had deepened the communication and mutual understanding between the two libraries. Both parties looked forward to more extensive cooperation on information technology services, inter-library loans, and historical documentation services in the near future. |
