Cheong Kun Lun College (CKLC) hosted the 2^nd Master’s Dinner and to celebrate the end of the semester at the college dining hall on 29 April 2019. Nearly 140 participants attended the dinner, including college students and staff, non-resident fellows and affiliates, as well as guest fellows.

Prof. Zhang Meifang, the College Master, opened the ceremony with welcome remarks and an introduction of the distinguished guests. In her remarks, Prof. Zhang gave an overview of college activities in the 2^nd semester. She praised the college teams who had made great efforts and achievements over the semester, and expressed her appreciation to the student leaders and staff for their cooperation and contributions. At the same time, in order to extend her great appreciation for the two outstanding external professors, Master Zhang presented the certificates of appointment to Prof. Sheng Mei and Dr Feng Qingcheng as CKLC guest fellows.

Apart from an opening remark by the College Master, we also invited the House Associate (HA) president Miss Rita Law to give an end-of-the-term speech. She reflected on the completed tasks over the past year, and expressed her gratitudes to the support from her members and college staff. She also wished the new House Association a great success in the coming year. After taking over the banner of HA from Miss Law, the new president, Miss Jacinthe Luo, delivered a speech. In addition to thanking the students of the present HA, Jacinthe expressed her plans and expectations for the coming year. She also hoped that the students would continue to support and participate in the activities organized by the New House Association.

After the HA hand-over ceremony, Prof. Zhang and Associate Master Dr. Kevin Huang presented the appreciation certificates to student leaders in recognition of their efforts and contributions. In the meantime, they also presented appreciation certificates to college teams: the flag team, the volunteer team, the football team, the badminton team, the table tennis team, the college band and the reading club. Furthermore, they also presented the top three awards to the winners of the CKLC Mascot Design.

During the dinner, we invited Miss He Si Yi, champion of the CKLC singing contest, to give a singing performance, college student Zhao Rui to perform the Guqin and our guest fellow Prof. Sheng Mei, who is a famous singer, to sing a song. Prof. Sheng’s wonderful singing put the evening to a new climax.

When the dinner was coming to an end, everyone present gathered closely together for a big group photo. Then, students took photos with the guests and their fellow students. They all said they had had a wonderful and enjoyable evening.
