The Dos and Don'ts of Social Media during Your Job Hunting
社交網站已經成為我們日常生活的一部分。幾乎每個人都至少有一個社交網站賬戶，你發布的文章及相片會無形中為你塑造你的網絡形象。即使社交網站有設置隱私的選項，你還是應該注意你發布到網路上的資訊。你在找工作時尤其應該注意。
Social media has become part of your daily lives, almost everyone has at least one social media account. Your posts and photos will build up your image on-line. Even though your account gives you an option to make your profile public or private, you still need to be careful what you put something on-line, especially if you're actively looking for a job. |
應該做的事：
- 及時更新你的個人檔案。應該把你的個人檔案當成你的網上履歷，在未來僱主面前展現自己專業的一面。
- 與重要的人保持聯繫。利用社交網站結識可以將工作引見給你的人。與招聘專員、招聘經理或在相關領域工作的同輩建立聯繫。
不應該做的事:
- 不要發布不恰當的相片或評論，這些相片或評論會成為你網上形象的一部分。仔細查看你過去發布的文章及相片，看看有沒有內容需要刪除。
- 不要使用錯誤的文法。錯誤的文法會讓你看起來不專業。
- 不要忘了讓各個社交網站上的個人檔案保持一致。你的所有個人檔案中的工作及教育經歷都應該保持一致。
Dos
- Keep your profile up to date. Treat your social media account as an on-line resume; you want to be well presented in front of a potential employer.
- Connect with key people. Use your social media account to connect with key people who can refer you to the jobs that you desire. Connect with recruiters, hiring managers, or peers who work in your interested field.
Don'ts
- Don't post inappropriate photos or comments; they build up your on-line image. Go through your previous posts and photos and see if there's anything that needs to be deleted.
- Don't use incorrect grammar. It gives an impression that you are not professional.
- Don't forget to keep your profile updated on all your accounts. Your work experiences and education backgrounds should be the same in all your accounts.
