Police Dog Encounter at FBA
Numerous UM students, staff and family members shared an amazing afternoon with a lot of fun and action at the event “Police Dog Encounter at FBA” organized by the FBA Management Society on 10 April, 2019. This event marks the first official visit of the Police Dog Unit to the University. A total of 6 police officers and 4 police dogs from the Unit came and interacted with our staff and students with engaging performance.
The Subchefe (Inspector) of the Police Dog Unit, Mr Sin Weng Kei began the event by giving an introduction of the Unit, job duties of the police dogs and police dog handlers, explaining their regular training routines, and the job requirements of a police dog handler. After the introduction, Labrador retriever, Grace, showed off her drug detection skills followed by Malinois, Gerry’s obedience demonstration. Lastly, the event was wrapped up by a photo-taking session with these adorable guardians of Macau.
Thanks to the Police Dog Unit, not only did we witness the high levels of intelligence and obedience showcased by the police dogs, but also the solid bond, trust, loyalty, and devotion between the police dog handlers and the police dogs, all accountable to the handler’s daily good care, training, and appropriate rewards provided to the dogs. Applying the same principle, organizations can build strong partnership with employees only when the employees feel they are being treated wholeheartedly.
