Please do not respond to phishing emails

    To: All Users

    ICTO received a report from users that received a suspicious email which containing the message "How are you today?". Once you reply to the email, you will receive a second email as above. It will request you to purchase some prepaid cards. This email seems to be sent by UM staff. However, the email has been confirmed as a phishing email after investigation. Moreover, ICTO has urgently blocked this suspicious email.

    If you receive any email which mentions personal data, password, money transfer, consumer offers or account verification. Please DO NOT RESPOND to these kinds of email before you confirmed the true identity of the senders or the genuineness of the requests.
    • Is the email written in a different style or signature format than usual?
    • Is the email address the sender's unusual email address? Especially, the email address is an external address but not UM (um,edu.mo or umac.mo).
    • Are there any misspellings, obvious grammatical errors, or meaningless topics in the email content?
    • Does the email content push you to do something immediately or within a period of time and include the consequences as well?

    If any of above questions has an answer "yes", this probably is a malicious phishing email. Please contact our Help Desk。
