Renowned physicist Paul Chu to give talk on superconductivity at UM this Thursday
The University of Macau (UM) on Thursday 17 October will hold a talk titled ‘Superconductivity and I’ as part of the University Lecture Series. Prof Paul Chu, a renowned physicist, will be the keynote speaker. During the talk, he will discuss the history of superconductors and share his research stories.
Prof Chu is known for his achievements in the fields of superconductors, magnetism, and dielectrics. He is the Temple Chair of Science, as well as the founding director and chief scientist of the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston. He is also president emeritus and university professor emeritus of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the recipient of a Doctor of Science honoris causa degree from UM.
The talk will start at 3:30pm in Mr and Mrs Lau Chor Tak Lecture Theatre (G078), Anthony Lau Building (E4), UM. It will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Mandarin.
