The 21st China International Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF 2019) was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 13 - 17, 2019. This year, the theme of CHTF is “Invigorating the Greater Bay Area through Opening Up and Innovation”. Keeping up with the trend and adhering to the initial intention of innovating, the Hi-Tech Fair plays an important role in promoting the commercialization, industrialization and internationalization of hi-tech achievements.

Invited by CPTTM and FDCT, a delegation of UMTEC Limited (UMTEC), a wholly-owned commercial subsidary of University of Macau (UM) and Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute, participated in the Fair and demonstrated the university’s research achievements. Through participating in this Fair, UMTEC demonstrated these industrial technologies of UM to the research institutes and merchants from mainland China. At the same time, the delegation also communicated with representatives of various business in Macao in order to promote the local transformation of UM research results.

In CHTF 2019, UMTEC demonstrated three industrialization projects of Zhuhai Digifluidic Biotech Ltd., BaylifeTech Biotechnology Co. Ltd., and ZIDIAN Technology Co. Ltd, including Virus Hunter, Ambient cell transportation system (ACTS) and Air-ClearV® No Ozone Electronic Air Disinfection Device. Virus Hunter from Zhuhai Digifluidic Biotech Ltd. is an entrepreneurial plan in the field of medical devices based on the scientific research strength of the state key laboratory of the UM and combined with a cooperation between domestic and foreign enterprises, focusing on the research, development, production and marketing of on-site rapid nucleic acid detection equipment based on digital microfluidic chip. BaylifeTech Biotechnology Co. Ltd. developed a ground-breaking technology that enables the storage of stem cells (e.g., human mesenchymal stem cells) under room-temperature and low-oxygen conditions for more than ten days with ensured cell viability and functions, thus saving costly cryopreservation equipment and the corresponding process. ZIDIAN Technology Co., Ltd. has a number of leading air purification disinfection patented technology, is committed to hospitals, hotels, governments and enterprises to provide a systematic high-quality experience of aseptic environmental maintenance and air purification services. ZIDIAN Technology’s patented technologies can use high-voltage static electricity to disinfect the air without producing ozone, completely harmless to the human body, when the use of people do not need to leave the scene. Take the lead in implementing the new concept of "No Left" disinfection in the industry.

The research teams of UMTEC also participated in the Business Match activities. Based on previous preparation and selection, Business Match arranged face-to-face meetings for those who want to acquire certain technologies and the technology inventors. During the exhibition, research teams communicated with industrial product design companies from Shenzhen, local third-party manufacturer testing organizations from Macau, and a number of venture capital institutions in the Greater Bay Area. Some of them also reached preliminary consensus on collaborations.
