University of Malaya Chinese Orchestra
University of Malaya Chinese Ochestra is established from the Chinese Language Society in 1967, from its subsidiary, the Chinese Ochestra group. The University of Malaya Chinese Orchestra was formally established in 1981 as one of the groups under the Universiti Malaya Cultural Center. To enable the orchestra to have more room for development, the school decided to entrust the University of Malaya Chinese Orchestra to the University of Malaya Student Affairs Office (HEPA).
Today, the University of Malaya Chinese Orchestra and the University of Malaya Lion Dance Group are affiliated to the University of Malaya Chinese Cultural Society, which was established in 2004. Its purpose remains unchanged, but the Ochestra becomes more resourceful, allowing the orchestra to popularize and promote traditional Chinese music more efficiently, thereby enhancing the public's understanding of Chinese culture.
