Wiley editors give talk at UM on scientific publishing and chemical impurities
The University of Macau (UM) today (17 December) held a talk titled ‘Publishing in Wiley Materials Science Journals, and a Chemical Story of Impurities’. Two editors of Wiley science journals, namely Dr Jovia Jiang and Dr Su Xin, were the keynote speakers.
Dr Jovia Jiang is the deputy editor of Wiley’s Advanced Materials Editorial Team. During the talk, she gave a brief overview of the recent developments of scientific publishing and Wiley’s materials science journals. She also discussed how manuscripts are handled by in-house editorial staff and provided suggestions on choosing the right journal for publication.
Dr Su Xin is a senior associate editor of Angewandte Chemie, a German journal in applied chemistry. He shared stories between chemical impurities and researchers, which involved the multi-faceted role of impurities in chemistry discoveries and the challenges impurities may bring.
The talk attracted many UM faculty members and students, who said that the talk gave them many inspirations.
