UM English Debating Team won the Novice Championship in HKPDS
The 15th Hong Kong Parliamentary Debate Association Workshop and Debate Tournament was held at Lingnan University, Hong Kong from August 12 to August 18. The workshop has always been known for its dedication in debate education and the high quality of trainers and debaters. The workshop invited excellent trainers from top universities such as Harvard University, Oxford University, and Princeton University. The contest also attracted a large number of debaters from Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau to get four days of intensive British Parliamentary (BP) training and three days of tournament.
There were seven students of UM English Debate Team in the workshop and tournament who had good performance. Among them, Dai Yin Hang, a third-year undergraduate student from the Sociology Department in Faculty of Social Science as well as Huang Shu Yan, a third-year undergraduate student from the Business Economics Major in Faculty of Business Administration successfully broke into the Novice Grand Final and won the Champion in Novice Group. Besides, they are both from Shiu Pong College (SPC) and Honours College of the University of Macau.
