Dear colleagues and students,
Life becomes easier with the use of electronic screen products. However, there are a lot of concerns when using these products. When they are used improperly, our eye vision, hearing, physical, mental and even social development will be affected. Please pay attention to the following suggestions on the health aspect when using electronic screen products.
  • Adjust brightness, font size and workstation.
  • Eyes should be slightly above the top of the screen and no less than 50 cm from the screen.
  • Sit upright and close to the desk.
  • Forearms should be approximately horizontal and supported by the desk. A space in front of the keyboard to allow hands and wrists to rest when not typing.
  • Keep wrists straight when typing.
  • Position the mouse within easy reach so it can be used with a straight wrist.
  • Legs should have rooms to move under the desk.
  • Keep reading distance no less than 50 cm from computers, 40 cm from tablets and 30 cm from smartphones.

  • Children under 2 years old should avoid contacting any electronic screen products; children between 2 to 5 years old should be restricted to within 1 hour; children between 6 to 12 years old should be restricted to within 2 hours; adolescents and adults should take regular breaks if prolonged screen time is unavoidable for academic or work purpose.
  • Rest for 20 to 30 seconds after every 20 to 30 minutes when using electronic screen products. Change position, blink eyes and do muscle relaxation exercise.
  • Pay attention to personal hygiene, clean the surface of the screen regularly.
