| The first high table dinner of the Chao Kuang Piu College in the 2020/2021 academic year, was held on the evening of October 14th and 16th. A total of 185 students attended, most of them were freshmen.
The guest speaker of the dinner is Mr. Ocean Tong, who is a registered architect in Macau, and the host of the Macau Radio as well. Mr. Tong shared his experience of life and great changes in his school time, from a naughty student who did not want to learn, to "fighting up" with classmates, running away from home, and getting confused in university. He had several dreams, but they all passed him by.
He finally studied in architecture, and participated in 12 years of architectural designs, 11 years of radio anchor, and 9 years of diversified work as a theater actor and director. Looking back, he felt that the efforts in the three area formed a kind of cross-type incentive for him, making his career and life full of challenges and fun.
He said that every arrangement is the best arrangement, and failure let us start again. Nobody is born as master of everything. So far, his young design team try to participate in new projects, including Macau landmark designs. He also mentioned that although opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared, when you are ready, opportunities might slip away. He likes to take challenge projects that exceed his qualifications. Every time he loses, he will gain experience and establish his own style over time. He encourages students to find their interests and make life more fun. He specifically mentioned that he loved to enjoy the vibrant sunrise at Long Chao Kok, Coloane, which reminded him to embrace his dreams every time he saw the beautiful sunrise.
This event was held in the form of High Table Dinner 2.0, features including:
· Set up a cocktail reception before the dinner, and set up a backdrop for students and guests to take formal photos
· During the banquet, students’ ordered songs will be played by Mr. Tong’s in radio style and students will be interviewed
· After the dinner, the college prepared a music band performance led by the college Exoplanet Band.
After the dinner, the Exoplanet Band performance brought an amazing ending of the high table dinner. The students took many photos in front of the backdrop.
