Lui Che Woo College Event: Meeting with China’s Gold Medalists
In the morning of 7 December 2019, Lui Che Woo College welcomed a group of China’s Gold Medalists during the final examination period. The students were highly excited to meet with these renowned sport stars and expected to learn from their life experiences sharing.
The seven China’s Gold Medalists namely Tong Fe (Gymnast), Li Xiaoshung (Gymnast), Yang Wei (Gymnast), Zhao Yunlei (Badminton athlete), Guo Wenjun (Shooting athlete), He Zi (Diver) and Qin Kai (Diver) won 12 Olympics Gold Medals in total and more than 40 gold medals in other world class competitions.
The event kicked off with a welcoming speech by UM Rector Yonghua Song, subsequently a brief introduction of each athlete by College Master, Prof. Yip Ming-Chuen. The athletes shared their experiences and thoughts one by one and they signed on a college windbreaker as a commemorative item for the college. After the meeting concluded with a group photo session, Prof. Yip led the group for a college tour and shared with them about the RC activities.
