2019/1 PGH Accommodaion Application
Dear Postgraduate Students,

Please noted that the Postgraduate House (PGH) Accommodation Application Result for 1st semester of 2019/2020 academic year with Room Allocation is attached below:

A. PGH Residence Period: 01 Aug to 30 Dec 2019, move out by 31 Dec 2019 (14:00)

Due to the number of applicants is more than our number of bed space vacancies, a part of the applications could not be approved at the moment and they will be placed on our waiting list, relevant students are included as below:

1. According to Article 3 of the Postgraduate House Rules, local postgraduate students have the lowest priority to be allocated for bed spaces.
2. In accordance with the PGH move-in declaration endorsed by students when making PGH application, postgraduate students who are beyond their study period also have a lower priority to be allocated for bed spaces.
3. According to Postgraduate House Point System, in case the number of applicants exceeds the number of available bed spaces of the semester, the PGH point will be considered as a reference standard. Students who with a negative points also have a lower priority to be allocated for bed spaces.

Thus, the applications of these students could not be approved at the moment and they will be placed on waiting list, please refer to the waiting list for details. Once there are bed spaces available, vacancies will be allocated to students on waiting list. Results for waiting list will be updated as per the following schedule.

C. Remarks:
  1. According to FMC decision dated on 27 February 2019, the PGH Residence Fee & Refund Terms and Conditions will be updated with effective from Academic Year 2019/2020. Therefore, please pay attention. For details, please refer to PGH website.
  2. Students who have paid the PGH residence fee and decided not to move-in / stay-in PGH in the 1st semester of 2019/2020 academic year, students ARE required to sent a written request to Student Resources Section (SRS) for approval. For the amount of refundable residence fee, please refer to "PGH Refund Terms and Conditions".
  3. Students who have paid the PGH residence fee and decided move-out from PGH within the PGH residence period, PGH residence fee will be refunded in proportion to students ONLY with reasons of graduation, exchange, medical issues (with medical certificates from hospitals in Macao), deferment or withdrawal of study. For the amount of refundable residence fee, please refer to "PGH Refund Terms and Conditions".
  4. Any UNSETTLED PGH residence fee after 21 Jun 2019 will automatically be considered as given up the allocated bed space for next academic year and your e-debit note will be deleted automatically from the Student Information (SI) system on or before 31 Oct 2019.
  5. After the applied Stay Period is confirmed in the Final Result by SRS, NO Extension will be entertained.
  6. Students staying in PGH during summer stay who NOT settled his/her 1st semester of 2018/2019 academic year residence fee or whose 1st semester of 2019/2020 academic year applications are NOT approved are required to move-out from PGH on or before 31 Jul 2019, 14:00. Students who have NOT moved out by 31 Jul 2019, their room cards will be de-activated and besides residence fee, overstay penalty (MOP400/suite/per night, MOP200/single room/per night and MOP140/student in a shared room/per night) will be imposed until completion of move out procedure. Moreover, an eviction order will be issued to the overstayed students.
  7. Students are required to make the move-out appointment with the management company office at least 72 hours before your actual move-out date, if not, a handling fee of MOP500 will be charged. Receipt will be issued by the Management Company after the appointment made (please keep it for further reference). For example, if a student would like to move out on 31 Jul (11:00am), s/he shall make the reservation via the Management Company on/before 28 Jul (11:00am). Besides, PGH residents must return their room keys or cards and any other UM properties and pay all the related fees and fines upon move-out.
  8. For those residents who have moved out of PGH without performing the move-out procedure, UM shall not only take relevant disciplinary actions but also will charge the handling fees. UM will charge the residence fee until move-out procedure is completed.
  9. Students are required to remove the personal belongings and garbage in the room before move-out. Otherwise, their belongings in the room will be disposed and the Garbage Removal Fee (MOP370 per person) will be levied.
  10. Students who are on the waiting list and were previously staying in single rooms, when there is any vacant bed space, the student will only be allocated to a shared room bed space instead of a bed space in the single room.
  11. Room changing application for 1st semester of 2019/2020 will be opened in Aug 2019. Any room changing request received before/after the room changing application period will not be entertained.
  12. For any room with vacant beds, the Student Resources Section (SRS) reserves all rights to assign other students to it at any moment.
  13. Late application after 31 March 2019 will be placed on Last Application List. This year, bed spaces are very tight in PGH. the result of Late Application List will be announced after Aug 2019, please pay attention to our coming announcement.
  14. SRS reserves the right of final decision.
