MCM College: Headset - Favourite Song Sharing
COVID-19 separates us, but music connects us. In March, the House Association of Moon Chun Memorial College organized a “Headset – Favourite Song Sharing”. We received great response from students and collected sixty pieces of sharing work from students. The objective of this event is to create an opportunity for everyone to share the songs they love and connect with faraway friends through listening to wonderful music during this special period. As stated in the slogan, “We travel through time, a headset, connecting me on the left and you on the right in the distance. Listening to our favourite songs, as if the faraway you are by my side, never being separated.” The House Association has already shared those favourite songs in MCMC wechat public platform, and some participants also shared their favourite songs through MCMC Radio. This has been my favourite song recently. During this epidemic period in the past few months, many oversea students came back to Macau. The sentence, “It couldn’t be better to be back home.” has been hanging on their lips. No matter how long they have been away from home, the place that they are most familiar with and miss is their home. The lyric, “Even though I always make mistakes, you understand me, accept me and comfort me. Just be happy to be myself, don’t have to think too much.” touches my heart, it expresses the love and support of our family. Whatever sufferings we have in our life, our family is always our strongest backup. I think that the melody of this song is beautiful with meaningful lyrics, and is worth sharing with everyone. – Kong Ka Weng

Like the name of this song, “Modern Loneliness” , it means we are not alone but we always feel depressed somehow. We feel lonely not because we don’t have our loved ones around us, but we are overwhelmed by the many little things in life. If we don’t respond to them, we will feel upset more and more. Therefore, please cherish those people who love you. The artist uses lively rhythm and interesting lyrics to express this message. Listening to this song makes me feel better. Whenever I am upset or feel helpless about the many things in the word, I listen to this song because the life philosophy it expresses is similar to mine. That is, no matter what happens, we need to hold on. Life is full of ups and downs, we need to learn to adapt it. I think that this song can fully express our process of growing up. When we are growing up, we keep searching for ourselves.
