Moon Chun Memorial College: “Learning Korean With A Song ” Workshop
 
Nowadays, many people are interested in Korean culture since it is becoming more popular, such as K-Pop, K-Dramas, Korean food, or Korean movies. In view of this, MCM College invited college affiliate, Ms Younhee Kim (originally from South Korea) to teach Korean to students on 21 and 28 January, 2021, in order to increase students’ cultural participation in Korean. In this two-hour workshop, the instructor taught participants the basic pronunciation and structure of 24 Korean alphabets through interactive teaching methods. The workshop was contextualised in reading along a refrain of BTS' song, "Life Goes On". No prior knowledge of Korean was expected from participants, but they were encouraged to do some preliminary self-study before they attended the workshop. After the workshop, the participants shared that learning Korean in this way was very interesting. |
