MCM College Responsible Citizenship Series: Visit to Judiciary Police School of Macau Judiciary Police

In order to deepen students’ understanding of the Macau Judiciary Police, awareness of law-abidance, and enhance social responsibility and civic awareness, MCM College’s Associate Master and Resident Fellow led a group of twenty students to visit the Judiciary Police School on 10th March 2021, and accompanying them was Mr. Elvo Sou, Head of UM Student Counselling Section. A representative explained the Judiciary Police’s history, organizational structure and criminal investigation work of various departments. Upon viewing a short video clip and report of the Judicial Police, students had a better understanding of the functions of the Judiciary Police, including crime prevention, crime investigation, assisting judicial authorities and civil defense work. Students visited the on-site investigation room, fingerprint collection room and moot court to simulate and experience what is was like to investigate, gather evidence and attend a court hearing. During the visit, MCM College student, Ronald Wan shared his experience as a junior anti-crime pioneer and young leader for community safety. Finally, Associate Master expressed the hope that students can become law-abiding residents in Macau.
