MCM College Celebrates Student Orientation 2019/20:

MCM College prepares to embrace the local and international community of Macau by fostering its core values of inclusivity, diversity and integrity, as well as forging a stronger connection.
Student leaders (Resident Tutors, Assistants and House Association) began their initial ritual of team building to become stronger and more cohesive as a group, and promoting trust and communication, as well as reducing any negativity that cause conflict or tension among them.
The one day retreat took place on 7th August and everyone involved learned many new ways to create a welcoming environment, for freshmen and returning students.
Matriculation for freshmen and returning students was successfully completed on Tuesday, 13th August, 2019. It was an exhilarating week, a necessary rite de passage which included, the Flag-Raising Ceremony, followed by UM Convocation and first lecture by UM Rector, Prof. Song, a rock concert (organised by SAO), and finally a ‘meet and greet’ session by College Master, Prof. Kevin Thompson.
This year, MCM College is at capacity, welcoming a new freshmen cohort, international exchange students (from Europe and Asia) and seniors returning to the fold.
Once again, Prof. Thompson emphasised the college’s care and welfare to each student, as well as wishing them all the best in their pursuit of academic excellence.
To conclude this invigorating week, student leaders and freshmen put together a night of talent and entertainment which showcased not only team spirit, but also youth, energy and passion. |
