Dear Colleagues and Students,

In the forthcoming seminar, we are honored to invite Prof. Chung-I WU to be our speaker. Prof. Wu is is an UM Macao Distinguished Visiting Scholar, a Professor in University of Chicago, Academician of Academia Sinica since 2004 when he was elected. In 2004, he was also elected as a fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science as a non-US citizen. He chaired the Ecology and Evolution Department at the University of Chicago, leading the department to the Number 1 ranking in the US during his three-term chairmanship. Prof. Wu was appointed the director of Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG) in 2008 and leading BIG’s re-organization efforts until 2014. He was awarded the Thousand Talent title in China in the very first year of the program. Prof. Wu has also been leading a mega-project from NSFC to fund studies on “Microevolution and multigenic interactions”.

In this seminar, Prof. Wu will present a perspective connecting cancer to evolution and then a proposal of treatment using this perspective.
